Emotionally Focused Therapy Training 2025

EFT Center-Bulgaria organizes a four-day training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Beginner Level Externship from 20 to 23 November in Sofia, Bulgaria. Sofia.

What is Externship

The Externship is the entry-level training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (30 hours) that teaches the basic clinical skills needed for healthcare professionals to use the method effectively in couples therapy. This is the first level for certification as an Emotionally Focused Therapist with ICEEFT – the International Council for Quality Care in Emotionally Focused Therapy. The training includes a lecture part, practical exercises, observation of a video recording of a session and a live session, and discussion of cases.

The training is organized by the Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy - Bulgaria with the support of EFT Greek Network, with which we have a long-standing close cooperation.

Trainers. Prof. Kiriaki Polichroni and Elena Krasteva

Prof. Kiriaki Polychroni is a psychologist, family and group therapist, couples therapist, trainer and supervisor of psychotherapists. He is a certified EFT trainer and supervisor. Honorary President of the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA). Member of the consultative and scientific team of the Athens Anthropos Institute, one of the first centres in Europe to apply family therapy. Founding member of the Hellenic Association of Systemic Therapy. Co-publisher of the European scientific journal "Human Systems: the Journal of Therapy, Consultation and Training". Trains and supervises professionals in Emotionally Focused Therapy and Systemic Family and Group Therapy. He teaches and gives workshops in Greece and in many other countries in Europe and worldwide. Founder and coordinator of the EFT Greek Network, she conducted the first Emotionally Focused Therapy training in Bulgaria in 2015, and in the following years continued to train and supervise colleagues in the method.

Elena Krasteva is a psychologist and family therapist with many years of practice. Certified therapist, supervisor and trainer in Emotionally Focused Therapy at ICEEFT, co-founder of the Center for Emotionally Focused Therapy. More about her in the section here.

Who is it for

The training is suitable for psychologists and psychotherapists from all schools of psychotherapy, graduates or in training, who are interested in couple therapy.
