ICEEFT (International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy) is dedicated to training health professionals and bringing to the public knowledge the efficacy of EFT in healing relationships.

We all need secure, sustainable and successful relationships with our significant others. Research overwhelmingly proves that secure attachment and having satisfying relationships are the foundation of mental and physical health.

Founded in 1998 by Dr. Sue Johnson and her colleagues in Ottawa, Canada, ICEEFT now represents a huge global community of 8,000 members, with 80 communities and centers in 80 countries. It has dozens of certified EFT educators around the world who offer educational courses and training to health care professionals. Responsible for the certification of EFT therapists worldwide. Conducts clinical research in close collaboration with various EFT centers and communities around the world.


Dr. Sue Johnson is a clinical psychologist, researcher, professor, book author, trainer, and one of the leading therapists in couples therapy. She lectures and writes books on attachment and bonding, the science of love, emotional trauma, and forgiveness. He is one of the main founders and ideator of Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Professor at the University of Ottawa, Canada and at Alliant University in San Diego, California. Director of the Institute for Couples and Families in Ottawa, Canada and the International Centre for Quality Care in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), which has numerous affiliates and communities in North America and Europe.
